Welcome

To the Upper Hutt Roller Skating Club Website. We hope that you will find this site informative about the club and our sport.

 

Rink is CLOSED for public sessions Sunday 21 Dec 2014 due to maintenance First public session for 2015 will be Sat 31 January 3.00 - 5.00 pm. Club wish all a Merry Xmas and a Happy 2015. Thank you for your support and we look forward seeing you all back.

I have made changes to the Member's Info page <HERE> to reflect upcoming changes to the rink fees structure. I have also added an information sheet for new members <HERE>. 2014 Public School Holiday Disco Information

Graeme Sheppard and Joan Alexander Challenges 2014

Held in Rotorua on the weekend of the 1st of November. Thanks very much to the organisers, judges and officials. Great results for UHRSC. Results are <HERE>.


Next Night time Public Disco

Christmas Night time public disco - Saturday the 20th of December from 6.30-8.30pm. Entry $7.00, New Skates $3.00, Blades $3.00, old skates free with entry. Click on the Photo for a full sized flyer.


2014 National Artistic Roller Skating Championship

This years Nationals were held at ASB Stadium in Auckland. Upper Hutt club skaters were very well represented with UHRSC winning the Show Skate Challenge and many individual and team medals. Thanks very much to the organisers, officials, coaches and competitors. Results are <HERE>.

 

2014 Laurie Hastie Competition

Held at Palmerston North on the 21/22 of July. There are some photos of the parts of the event in <Gallery1> and <Gallery2>. Congratulations to all competitors and thanks very much to the judge officials and oraganisers. Results are <HERE>

 

2014 Central Areas Championship

This was held on the 24th and 25th of May at Palmerston North. Due to some extreme weather crossing the country some of the International grades long programmes for free skating needed to be cancelled. This was due to leaks in the building roof causing water on the rink surface. A good call by the organisers and officials which potentially saved injuries to skaters. Thanks to the organisers, officials, judges and competitors. Results for UHRSC skaters are <HERE>

2014 Oceania Championship

This was held from the 21st of April to the 26th of April at the Rainbow Stadium in Palmerston North. New Zealand and UHRSC skaters featured heavily in the results, collecting the majority of the medals. There is an NZ Oceania Team Facebook page which has some photos from the event <HERE>. Thanks to all the competitors, officials, coaches and organisers for making this a fun, high quality event. Results of our very successful UHRSC skaters are <HERE> Congratulations to the new Oceania Champions, and all other skaters who participated.

UHRSC skaters won 8 Gold, 5 Silver and 7 Bronze medals - 20 combined medals overall - a great tally!!

Central Areas League results

A Central Areas League competition was held on Saturday the 12th of April at Arena 3 in Palmerston North. Well done to all the UHRSC competitors! Results are <HERE>

 

2014 UHRSC Volunteer of the Year and Birthday Cup Winners

Congratulations to David Linney who won the Volunteer of the Year Trophy (the Bill Stratford Trophy) and Emma Patrick who won the Birthday Cup for 2014

 

 

Upper Hutt Open Competition 2014

A fantastic event this weekend with our annual UHRSC Open competition. Many thanks to all the officials, organisers and helpers. Bruce you are forgiven for running late last year at club champs! 2013 Club Champs

This was held on the weekend of the 13th of December. Many thanks to the organisers, judges, officials and competitors for a very successful weekend. Full results are <HERE> well done to all competitors, it was a fun event and a good first competition for many of our patch skaters.

The Oceania team are selling photo CDs of high resolution photos of each individual skater taken at club champs - it costs $25 per skater, with all proceeds go towards the 2014 Oceania team (order forms and some samples are on the notice board - or have a look at our club Facebook page)

2013 National Artistic Roller Skating Champs

This event was held at the Jubilee Stadium in Wanganui from 1-5th of October. Overall the Upper Hutt club did very well with 20 Gold, 20 Silver and 16 Bronze medals won by club members. Also UHRSC won the Charles Jacobsen Trophy (Artistic Points) and Jack Fanthorpe Memorial Fund (New Zealand and International Fields Top Senior Skater): Emma Patrick. and also the Avis Berry Trophy (Most Points Senior Lady): Emma Patrick. Full results are <HERE>. Photos have been loaded onto the club facebook page. Congratulations to all competitors, and thanks to judges, officials and organisers. Special thanks to our Club Managers Fiona Patrick, Carolyn Evans and Raynor Stratford - and also to their helpers. This was a big event for our club with a large number of new skaters attending their first Nationals competition.

 

New Public Session information

Our new address is 4A Railway Avenue, Upper Hutt. The new entrance is just around the corner next to City Aerials and will be sign posted. Please note the change in entry fees, which have increased by $1. A Map is available <HERE>.

 

Learn to Skate (Patch Class)

Learn to skate lessons are held each Tuesday night at 5.30pm at the rink in Railway Ave.
